Dewsbury & Dewsbury: Two Generations Working Together in Derby

Welcome to Derbymoneyman!

Earlier on in the week, we welcomed our newest member, Joe Dewsbury, to our Mortgage Advisor team.

Joe was introduced to the company by his father Wayne, who is also one of our leading Advisors with 36 years of legal experience behind him – you may recognise him from one of our social media posts or have interacted with him when popping into our office.

Dews & Dews Derbymoneyman

Prior to starting with us, Joe worked at a high street bank for 3 years but has already shown in the few days he has been with us a keen interest to dive headfirst and take on the exciting challenges of the company.

After spending a vast amount of time being mentored by our very own Matt Collinson, shown the ins and outs of each department, and been told where the good coffee is – we hope you’ll have a great connection with Joe, just like our customers have had with Wayne.

Wear it Pink in Derby

Today, the team at Derbymoneyman wore pink to raise awareness for Breast Cancer’s ‘Wear It Pink’ campaign – one of the biggest fundraising events within the UK. So, we joined in with the many thousands who are taking part nationwide by dressing up in the pinkest items we could find in our wardrobes.

With an overall total of £33 million raised to date, we wanted to make sure that we did our part and put in our contribution to raise that number even higher!

This year, each of our employees paid £2 to spend the day bringing colour into the office and for the ones who didn’t were sent to our ‘Glitter Station’. Alongside the fashion fund-raising, we also made sure to utilize the resource packs that Breast Cancer Now provide on their website and held a Big Pink Quiz of our own.

Further donations were also given by putting forward some spare change and choosing from a selection of snacks generously brought in by members of the office.

But we thought why stop there? We also gave our employees the chance to enter a raffle where they had the opportunity to win one of our various prizes including plants, sweets and extra little treats.

With the day not being over yet we’re keeping up the fun-filled atmosphere to gather even more funds to support this great cause before the day comes to an end – we thought we’d take a minute to show you some photos of our fabulous employees who took part and show off their pink-inspired styles.

Mortgage Advice in Derby | Behind The Scenes Celebration.

It’s that time again where we celebrate our employee’s success in achieving the set group target aimed towards customer satisfaction.

As a company value, we strive to prioritise the upkeep of 5-star service to everyone who approaches us. Every day our admin and advisor staff work to maintain this standard to give nothing but the best for our customers. This is the reason we see many familiar faces when customers come back to us for remortgages or additional properties.

This dedication and high standard of company values upheld on a day-to-day basis led to the decision from our directors that a KFC Friday was well deserved for all the team – with nothing on the menu off-limits.

Employee appreciation

It is days like these where we take a step back to appreciate all our hard-working employees, all the way from the marketing department and admin staff in the back of our offices to our customer-facing staff including the case handlers and advisors – there is no part of the team we could do this without.

Without each department bringing their strengths to the team and making the company what it is today, we wouldn’t be receiving the brilliant reviews which we receive on a day-to-day basis.

Our reviews

“From the first call Leo’s service was exceptional. The service has been one of the best I have received and I would always go back for in future years. Thank you, your friendly professional approach helped massively.”  – Christina Stavers.

It is because of these reviews that we are still ongoing as we are often told that new customers come to us based on previous reviews that they have seen. Because of this, we would also like to thank our amazing customers for their loyalty and kindness.

If you would like to see of our customer reviews, please check out our customer reviews page.

When it comes to our customers, we take pleasure in being a part of your journey of finding your dream home. If you need some 5-star Mortgage Advice in Derby, feel free to contact us and we’ll see how we can help you too!

Broker Bake Off in Derby 2019 | #MacmillanCoffeeMorning

On Friday 27th September 2019, we came together for a Macmillan Coffee Morning, an event where people are encouraged to chat over a brew in order to raise money for cancer support. We’ve made sure to consistently take part in these through past years, as we hold Macmillan close to our hearts.

This year, it has been one of our best turnouts ones yet, with some delicious treats brought into our work by our fantastic staff. These included:

  • Chicken Sausage Roll with Mozzarella and Caramelised Onion (made by Kayleigh Crawley – Mortgage & Protection Advisor)
  • Soured Cream Bundt Cake w/ Butter Glaze & Blackberry Sauce (made by Anna Braithwaite – Mortgage Technician)
  • Double Chocolate Muffins (made by Laura Aves – Dedicated Case Handler)
  • Guinness Chocolate Cake (made by Mel Blanchard – Operations Manager)
  • Carrot Cake (made by Jo Parnell – Mortgage Technician)
  • Toffee Pavlova (made by Leanne Ashman – Dedicated Case Handler)
  • Salted Caramel Cake & Lemon Cake (made by Tesco, generously donated by Kayleigh Steward – Dedicated Case Handler)
  • Heroes Cupcakes (made by Cadbury, generously donated by Paula Milner – Compliance Manager)

All of these were soon consumed and contributions were gathered from both our staff and our building neighbours.

We are delighted to see everyone who baked, donated, tasted and overall had a terrific time during our coffee morning. Bring on next year!
